[vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Since 1996 we have been supporting the B\u00f6npo \u00a0Triten Norbutse Monastery in Kathmandu (Nepal). The original monastery in Tibet was completely destroyed during the cultural revolution. Now the survival of the monastery and of its monks depends on us\u2026<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Inaugurated in 1995, the B\u00f6npo Triten Norbutse Monastery was founded at Swayambunath (near Kathmandu) by the Master Lopon Tenzin Namdak Rimpoche with the aim to safeguard Bonpo religion and culture outside Tibet.<\/p>\n

Lopon Rimpoche aims to give B\u00f6npo monks in exile a complete training, so that once they have completed their cycle of studies the monks can retun to Tibet<\/strong> in order to keep alive the precious B\u00f6npo teachings.<\/p>\n

However the monastery and those living in it need everything: food, heating, sacred texts for their studies amd items for their rituals.<\/p>\n

we have helped 150 monks, but many others need our help;<\/p>\n

we provide every monk with heating requirements, ritual objects and teaching materials.<\/p>\n

The monks at the B\u00f6npo Triten Norbutse Monastery need our help now<\/a>.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tab][vc_tab title=”THE HISTORY” tab_id=”1410961499256-3-4″][vc_column_text]Inaugurated in 1995, B\u00f6npo Triten Norbutse Monastery was founded at Swayambunath, near Kathmandu, by the master Lopon Tenzin Namdak Rimpoche with the aim to safeguard Bonpo religion and culture outside Tibet.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tab][vc_tab title=”CURIOSITY” tab_id=”1412950163259-4-2″][vc_column_text]A complete cycle of studies<\/strong> lasting thirteen years leads to conferral of a Geshe diploma within the B\u00f6npo religious system.<\/p>\n

These studies include a wide range of Tibetan traditional subjects<\/strong>: Sutra, Tantra, Dzogchen, dialectical debate, the study of cosmology, Tibetan grammar and calligraphy, Sanskrit grammar, the creation of mandalas, B\u00f6npo medicine and all the traditional sciences.<\/p>\n

Once a week all the monks are given an oral exmaination<\/strong> by Lopon Rimpoche and the geshes. Each monk in turn asks his examiner some questions, and the exam can last up to 5 or 6 hours.<\/p>\n

Once they have completed their thirteen year study course many of the Geshes return to Tibet<\/strong> to take back and share their knowledge with the younger generations in Tibet.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tab][\/vc_tabs][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

It only takes 80 cents a day, if you think about it\u2026 It is less than the cost of a cup of coffee.<\/h4>\n
